PhET INTERACTIVE SIMULATION AS A VIRTUAL LABORATORY FOR SCIENCE LEARNING IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas penerapan PhET interactive simulations sebagai laboratorium virtual pada pembelajaran sains sekolah dasar selama pandemi Covid-19. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah kajian pustaka, angket/kuesioner, dan wawancara. Analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis data Miles and Huberman. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dapat diketahui bahwa PhET interactive simulations efektif diterapkan pada pembelajaran sains sekolah dasar selama pandemi Covid-19. Siswa dapat menemukan sendiri konsep-konsep sains melalui kegiatan praktikum secara virtual dengan bantuan PhET interactive simulations, sehingga pembelajaran akan menjadi lebih bermakna. PhET interactive simulations terbukti mampu memvisualisasikan dengan baik konsep-konsep yang awalnya dirasa sulit untuk dipahami. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa PhET interactive simulations efektif diterapkan sebagai laboratorium virtual dalam pembelajaran sains sekolah dasar selama pandemi Covid-19. Sebaiknya dalam penerapannya diberikan lagi panduan penggunaan berupa penjelasan secara lisan maupun dalam bentuk video.
